Welcome to the Bangalow Music Festival August 16-18, 2013.
Once again the gorgeous township of Bangalow will be transformed into a musical mecca as we introduce an exceptionally starry cluster of soloists this year.
Featuring the finest international and Australian ensembles and soloists, 2013 continues to deliver exciting programs and top-draw music making.
We will be presenting the new generation of solo sensations from around the globe; performers who are jumping the queue and taking the world by storm with their consummate artistry: Jayson Gilham piano (Aus/UK), Silver-Garburg Piano Duo (Israel/Germany), Alexander Lewis tenor (Aus/US), Qian Zhou violin (China/Singapore), Felicitas Fuchs soprano (Germany), plus established stars Emma Sholl flute (Sydney), Bernard Lanskey piano/philosophy (Aus/UK/Singapore), our very own Southern Cross Soloists and the fab four from Melbourne- the Flinders String Quartet.
Some unusual highlights include a surprise event during the champagne launch and a new lecture-style discovery concert exploring the science behind our own human reactions to hearing music.
Join us for a weekend of delicious music making in the captivating setting of northern NSW where our audiences will be treated to an exclusive preview of the latest and greatest in the classical music world.

Nine concerts over three day weekend in Bangalow
Bangalow Music Festival is an enchanting weekend of music in an intimate setting. Showcasing a vibrant cross-section of musical styles in the beautiful township of Bangalow, just ten minutes from Byron Bay, this annual Festival is a world-class event.
The programs are rich in collaboration between professional chamber ensembles, emerging young artists, Australian composers and outstanding soloists. Over the years the Festival has welcomed many distinguished artists, including Ilya Knovalov (Concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic), the Australian String Quartet, Tankstream Quartet, Tel-Aviv Trio, Marshall Maguire, Slava Grigoryan, and of course members of the Southern Cross Soloists.
After attending the Festival in 2004, legendary Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe described it as, “the most exciting festival, outside a capital city, that I have ever attended”.
The award-winning Bangalow Music Festival has been the most spectacular development of the Southern Cross Soloists in recent years. The Festival has grown to become one of the country’s finest music festivals.
The 2011 festival marked the tenth anniversary of this wonderful festival.Book now to avoid missing out. Booking early makes securing accommodation easier and stress free, as local hotels tend to fill up quickly.
