Rhythm and Dance

Sunday 23 June 2013, 3pm

QPAC Concert Hall Intimate Mode

Southern Cross Soloists take a spin in a new direction with the addition of rhythm and dance to their traditional chamber repertoire.

Movement and percussion have been part of the human experience since time immemorial. Throughout history, dance has been used to tell stories - in ceremonies, rituals and entertainment - and has often been accompanied by rhythmic music.

So, when Southern Cross Soloists invited percussionist Timothy Constable (an absolute audience favourite) to take part in this concert, it was with excitement that he agreed to participate as both guest soloist and composer.

With an eclectic mix of works from the Baroque to the brand new, there's something for everyone in this vibrant program.
