Southern Cross Soloists are proud to report that the 2010 SunWater and Stanwell Winter Music School was a magnificent success, both artistically and educationally.
Now in its fourth year, the 2010 camp saw the 125 student capacity reached for the very first time, resulting in a waiting list of more than 30 students. Young musicians travelled from all over Queensland, including students from Ayr, Biloela, Bundaberg, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Roma, as well as New South Wales and Canberra.
Overall, the students, staff and parents involved with the event were thrilled with the outcomes: fuelling students’ passion for music, providing a wide range of educational and artistic opportunities, and meeting new people and building networks within the industry, which is a must for those planning on pursuing music throughout their tertiary years.
