Dr Eve Newsome is a highly experienced orchestral, chamber and solo performer who has toured extensively both nationally and internationally. She has held positions with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, and Orchestra Victoria and is a founding member of Southbank Players; Lunaire Collective and Limpinwood Ensemble. Eve has featured as a soloist with the Queensland Philharmonic, Camerata, and Southbank Players and performed as a chamber musician with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australia Ensemble, Southern Cross Soloists, Camerata, Ensemble Q and at numerous national music festivals. In 2017-2018 she was Co-Artistic director of the award-winning Tyalgum Music Festival. In 2020, as Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, she won a citation for the innovative course Optimal Performance Practice that was inspired by her doctoral research. In recent times Eve co-founded the Southern Moreton Bay Islands Community Concert Band and has continued her lifelong dedication to education and community music.
