Southern Cross Soloists (SXS), an internationally recognised chamber music ensemble comprised of leading soloists, proudly announced today the addition of globally renowned violinist Amalia Hall to its prestigious ranks. Heralded as one of today's most captivating virtuosos, Amalia Hall brings her unparalleled artistry and passion for music to the esteemed Queensland-based ensemble.
With a career marked by accolades and acclaim, Amalia Hall has graced concert halls worldwide, captivating audiences with her spellbinding performances. Praised for her "mesmerising virtuosity" and "deeply expressive interpretations," Amalia has earned a reputation as a leading figure in the classical music world.
Born in New Zealand, Amalia Hall began her violin studies at the age of three and quickly distinguished herself as a prodigious talent. Following her studies on full scholarship at the world leading Curtis Institute under the mentorship of the legendary violinist and pedagogue, Josef Silverstein, she went on to win numerous awards, including the prestigious International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, solidifying her status as an artist of exceptional calibre.
Amalia's passion for chamber music has led her to collaborate with esteemed musicians and chamber ensembles across the globe. Her profound musicality and dynamic stage presence make her a sought-after soloist, captivating audiences with her electrifying performances.
The addition of Amalia Hall to SXS promises to enrich the ensemble's repertoire and inspire audiences with her extraordinary talent and artistry. Audiences can look forward to experiencing the magic of Amalia's performances with the ensemble at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and further afield. Amalia wowed audiences at Divine Alchemy, the first 2024 QPAC Concert for SXS as Company in Residence early this month.

Although Amalia Hall takes up the ensemble core position in 2025, this year she joins the ensemble for a performance in Sydney at the Concourse Theatre for the Sydney Mozart Society on 29 May, and at QPAC in Brisbane on 2 June 2024. Tickets are available now for both performances and selling fast.
