Ray Lin

Ray Lin is an award-winning composer, conductor, and arranger for concert hall and screen. His works have been performed internationally in the US, UK, China, New Zealand, and through a range of prestigious local, state and national festivals and platforms in Australia, including ABC Classic, SBS, QPAC, VIVID Sydney, BrisAsia Festival, Brisbane Festival, Sydney Film Festival and more. He has written for the Queensland Pops Orchestra, Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, Camerata – QLD’s Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Central Coast, Queensland Conservatorium Symphony, pipa virtuosos Zhou Yi (USA), Liu Lu(Aus), renowned guitarist Karin Schaupp(Aus), among others. In 2024, Ray was named Young Composer of the Year by the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and was appointed emerging composer-in-residence by Camerata for 2023. In recent years, Ray has received outstanding awards including a David Blumberg Award from the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (2022) and winning the Contemporary Classical Song of the Year prize at the 2020 Queensland Music Awards. Ray is a graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium of music and AFTRS, and currently further studies at the Royal College of Music in London.
